The spherical case has a beautiful satin silver finish to the oceans, contrasted with gleaming gold-tone land masses, with countries, cities, seas and lines of latitude and longitude finely detailed across the surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe globe opens around its equator to reveal a circular mirror and an ingenious fitted powder compartment with its hinged inner cover. This example is particularly desirable for retaining its original Pygmalion sifter, signed powder puff and black drawstring pouch, together with the scarce original gold-coloured box labelled “PYGMALION No 1960 GLOBE COMPACT MAP OF THE WORLD”. The compact itself is marked “FOREIGN”.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe No. 1960 Globe is one of Pygmalion’s most distinctive novelty compact designs and dates to the 1950s. Complete examples are increasingly difficult to find, particularly with the original presentation box and accessories still together.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe compact is in perfect condition, with no flaws or faults noted. The interior is equally beautifully preserved, with a clear mirror and the original sifter and signed puff present.
