Fine gilt engraving depicts a stylish couple beside a grand piano, the woman carrying a bouquet and the piano creating a particularly striking mid-century backdrop.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMeasuring approximately 8.5cm in diameter, this is a satisfyingly substantial circular compact. The reverse is engraved with close vertical lines scattered with tiny stars, centred by the Stratton England mark. Inside are a large lid mirror, a hinged inner cover and mesh sifter over the powder well, allowing the compact to be used with loose powder or a suitable pressed powder pan. A Stratton Made in England powder puff is also present.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn good vintage condition, with the white enamel and engraved scene presenting particularly well and light wear commensurate with age and previous use.
