The richly gilded cover is particularly striking, with finely radiating, wavy engine-turned decoration surrounding the cameo and a graceful scalloped octagonal outline.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMeasuring approximately 7.5cm across, this elegant English compact has a clear round mirror, still retaining its Stratton instruction label identifying the cameo as made by Josiah Wedgwood \u0026amp; Sons Ltd. Beneath is Stratton’s patented inner door mechanism, embossed with the Stratton name and opening over the powder well. It is complete with a cream mesh sifter and Stratton-branded powder puff. The reverse is beautifully finished with a finely textured ground scattered with tiny star motifs, while the inner rim is marked Made in England.
