A wonderfully characterful vintage Statue of Liberty souvenir powder compact, featuring a colourful view of the famous New York landmark.
The square compact has a glossy powder-blue finish, with a circular pictorial panel to the front showing the Statue of Liberty standing against the New York skyline and water. The silver-tone edging gives it a lovely period appearance.
Inside is a round mirror with the original removable metal powder sifter and fabric sifter still present. The reverse continues the simple blue finish.
Measuring approximately 7.5 cm square, this is an unusual piece of vintage American travel memorabilia as well as a charming addition to a powder compact collection.
It remains in good vintage condition overall, with age-related wear, marks and some tarnishing to the silver-tone metalwork. There are also small marks and signs of age to the blue finish and interior, all visible in the photographs. The mirror shows some age but remains usable.
A lovely little survivor with bags of nostalgic appeal — particularly nice for a collector of New York, Statue of Liberty, travel souvenir or vintage vanity pieces.
