An unusual vintage Stratton Non-Spill powder compact combining one of the company’s practical loose-powder mechanisms with a sophisticated faux-shagreen textured finish.
Measuring approximately 8 cm diameter, the compact was designed to make loose powder easier and less messy to carry, with the internal Non-Spill arrangement forming an important part of the design rather than simply a conventional open powder well.
Inside are the original mirror, powder fittings and powder puff.
The faux-shagreen surface gives the compact a quieter appearance than Stratton’s floral and enamelled models, with the texture itself providing the decoration. There are signs of previous handling and use, but the original fittings remain present.
