A vintage Kigu Concerto musical powder compact, combining a traditional vanity compact with an integral mechanical music-box movement.
This example plays “Anniversary Song”, and importantly, the musical movement is working.
Opening the compact reveals its mirror and powder fittings, while the incorporated music mechanism transforms it from an ordinary powder compact into one of Kigu’s much more elaborate novelty models.
The compact is boxed and unused, making it a particularly appealing survivor, with its original fittings and presentation packaging retained.
Kigu’s musical compacts are amongst the company’s most ingenious designs, and having the tune positively identified makes this example particularly satisfying.
