A beautiful vintage Regent of London powder compact, with a wonderfully decorative tapestry-style floral panel set into an ornate gold-tone case.
The front features a finely worked petit point-style floral design, with softly muted roses and foliage against a cream ground. It is surrounded by an elaborate scrolling gold-tone border, with the same intricate pattern continuing across the reverse of the compact.
Inside is a large square bevelled mirror, with the original removable powder well cover and Regent of London branded powder puff still present. The powder compartment beneath retains its mesh sifter. The compact is marked REGENT OF LONDON beneath the mirror.
Even better, it comes with its original box, making this a particularly lovely and complete example. The box does show age and storage wear, especially to the red outer covering, as photographed.
The compact itself presents beautifully, with a bright gold-tone finish and only light signs of age and previous handling. The tapestry panel remains attractive and the interior is remarkably clean for its age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
