A striking 1980s Stratton powder compact, beautifully finished with a signed Art Deco-style portrait to the lid. The graphic design shows a stylised woman in profile, her sweeping black hat and dark clothing set against a crisp white ground with fine grey detail and warm ochre-gold accents. Framed by a narrow black circular border and polished gold-tone edge, it has a wonderfully elegant, glamorous presence.
The reverse is finished in a finely textured basketweave-style pattern and bears the Stratton England mark within a central cartouche. Inside, there is a clear circular mirror and a powder well complete with its removable cream-coloured mesh sifter and matching surround. It measures approximately 7.5 cm in diameter.
This lovely Stratton compact is in excellent vintage condition, with the portrait design, gold-tone finish, mirror and mesh sifter all presenting very well. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
