A striking vintage powder compact with a rich blue enamel lid and bold silver-tone diagonal stripe decoration.
The strong geometric design gives the compact a distinctly Art Deco appearance, with the deep blue enamel providing a dramatic contrast against the bright silver-tone bands. At approximately 8.5 cm across, it is also a generously sized example with plenty of visual presence.
The compact retains its original interior components and, unusually, is accompanied by its original leather protective pouch — an increasingly difficult accessory to find surviving with vintage compacts.
Condition is good vintage overall. There is visible enamel loss around the hinge area together with light surface wear from age, use and storage. The interior also shows age-related cosmetic wear. These points are clearly shown in the photographs and have been taken into account in the price.
