Vintage Blue Hammered Metal Minaudière Vanity Case with Comb, Puffs & Lipstick Holder

A charming vintage minaudière-style vanity case in softly mottled blue hammered metal, with dark moulded end panels and a striking geometric silver-tone clasp set with marcasite-style stones. Its neat rectangular form, richly textured finish and stylised clasp give it a wonderfully Art Deco appearance.

This unusually well-appointed little travelling case measures approximately 11 x 6 x 2.5 cm when closed. Inside, the fitted interior retains its rectangular mirror, black comb, circular powder well with round puff, separate square powder puff and lipstick holder. A cigarette tray also pulls out from the side, adding a particularly interesting period detail. The original comb, puffs and lipstick holder are all present.

It is in good, intact vintage condition, with considerable age-related rubbing and loss to the blue exterior finish, most noticeably around the edges, corners and clasp area, where the warm metal beneath is visible. There are surface marks consistent with age and use, and the mirror has visible age-related spotting; the interior fittings remain attractively complete.
