A wonderfully romantic vintage powder compact featuring an elegant tapestry-style courting scene framed by ornate gold scrollwork against an ivory celluloid effect surround. The lid depicts beautifully dressed Georgian or Rococo-style figures gathered in a garden terrace setting, giving the piece a soft, theatrical old-world charm reminiscent of vintage French boudoir decor.

This compact has a lovely large mirror inside and retains its original powder pad. The decorative top has a gentle aged softness to the print which suits the romantic aesthetic beautifully. The reverse has an ivory marbled appearance with visible patina and a hairline crack to the reverse panel as shown clearly in the photographs.
