A beautiful vintage Gwenda powder compact with one of those wonderfully intricate designs that seems to shimmer and change as it catches the light.
The lid combines a softly textured silver-tone ground with concentric waves of finely engine-turned gold detailing, drawing the eye towards an elaborate rosette at the centre. It has an almost hypnotic quality – understated from a distance, but full of tiny decorative detail when viewed closely.
The reverse is equally lovely, finished in rich gold tone with an exceptionally fine radiating guilloché pattern.
Opening the compact reveals a clear mirror and powder compartment, complete with its vintage powder puff. The hinge is stamped “GWENDA BRITISH MADE”.
In lovely vintage condition overall, with some age-related wear and marks consistent with its history, all adding to the character of a genuine vintage vanity piece.
