Vintage Italian Florentine Leather Powder Compact – Black & Gold Tooled Design – 1940s 1950s

A beautiful vintage powder compact dating to around the 1940s–50s, measuring approximately 7 x 6cm and attributed to Italian Florentine manufacture.

The exterior is covered in richly textured leather decorated with an elaborate black and gold Florentine-style design. Intricate scrolling motifs surround a small central diamond detail, creating a wonderfully ornate and opulent appearance.

The compact opens to reveal a full mirror and a beautifully presented interior, with a hinged metal cover protecting the powder compartment. The original mesh powder sifter is still present.

The compact is unmarked, so no specific maker attribution can be made. However, its leather covering, decorative gold tooling and distinctive styling are characteristic of Italian Florentine vanity pieces produced during the mid-20th century.

The compact is in lovely vintage condition, with the richly detailed black and gold decoration remaining beautifully preserved. The interior is equally attractive, with the original sifter still present. Please see the photographs for the full condition.
