A handsome vintage Kigu barrel cigarette case with a wonderfully tactile gold-tone finish.
The gently curved case is covered with an unusual linear texture, almost like the grain of tree bark, which catches the light beautifully across the rounded surface. A simple gold-tone clasp sits neatly along the edge.
Opening along the central hinge reveals the original gold-tone interior, with curved ends following the distinctive barrel shape.
Dating from around the late 1950s to 1960s, this is a lovely example of Kigu’s mid-century handbag accessories — simple in design but anything but plain.
