Vintage Kigu Bouquet Basket Powder Compact Gold Tone Carry Handle 5.5cm

A charming vintage Kigu powder compact in the sought-after “bouquet basket” style, finished in warm gold tone metal with an ornate engine-turned design and delicate carry handle.

Measuring approximately 5.5cm in diameter (2.17 inches), this petite compact is beautifully detailed with radiating fan-style engraving across the lid and scalloped shaping around the body, giving it a distinctly feminine mid-century look. The twisted handle arches neatly over the top, designed to resemble a miniature vanity basket.

Inside, the compact retains its original cream plastic liner and inner lid, with the Kigu marking faintly visible to the interior. The interior remains clean and well preserved overall.

Condition is good vintage. There is age-related wear to the gilt finish, surface marks and some rubbing consistent with use, all visible in the photographs. The hinge and clasp both work well.

A lovely collectible example of a classic Kigu design — decorative, practical and highly displayable within any vintage vanity or compact collection.
