A wonderful vintage Kigu powder compact designed in the form of a miniature handled basket.
The petite gold-tone case measures approximately 5.5 cm across and is richly decorated with radiating fan-style engine turning and scalloped shaping around the body. A twisted movable handle arches over the top, completing the tiny basket form.
Inside, the compact retains its original cream-coloured liner and inner lid, with the Kigu marking faintly visible to the interior.
Condition is good vintage overall. There is age-related rubbing and surface wear to the gold-tone finish from previous handling and use, all shown in the photographs. The decorative engine turning remains well defined, the interior is clean and well preserved, and the hinge and clasp operate correctly.
