A vintage Kigu handbag comb and case, personalised with the engraved name “Gertie.”
The gold-tone case measures approximately 12.5 cm long and is decorated with engine turning and more ornate detailing at either end.
Inside is the original faux-tortoiseshell comb, neatly housed and protected within the metal case.
The comb remains intact and the gold-tone case is in very good condition, with light marks from previous use. The engraved “Gertie” remains clear and adds a particularly personal detail to the piece.
Kigu produced a wide range of small handbag and vanity accessories alongside its better-known powder compacts, and this is a nicely preserved example of one of its practical comb sets.
