A beautiful vintage Kigu of London powder compact with a wonderfully pretty floral design of pink and soft blue flowers against a warm brushed gold-tone background.
The central rose is surrounded by delicate blossoms, buds, leaves and fine feathery foliage, giving the design a lovely hand-illustrated appearance. The reverse is equally attractive, finished with an intricate engine-turned pattern radiating outwards from the centre.
Inside, the compact has a full-size mirror and retains its original Kigu of London powder puff and mesh sifter. The inner rim is marked “Made in England”.
The compact is in lovely vintage condition overall. The floral decoration remains bright and beautifully detailed, with only light age-related wear to the gold-tone finish. The mirror is clear and the interior presents very well. The original puff and sifter show light signs of age and previous use, as photographed.
A particularly pretty Kigu with a classic mid-century floral design – lovely for a collection and an attractive example of the decorative powder compacts produced by Kigu in England.
