Made in England by Kigu of London, this vintage Convertible powder compact combines a creamy enamel floral lid with one of Kigu’s beautifully shaped scalloped gold-tone cases.
The central enamel panel is decorated with a bouquet of yellow, blue and green flowers, while the reverse carries a classic guilloché pattern.
Dating from approximately the 1950s–60s, it opens to reveal a clear mirror together with its original Kigu Plus sifter and convertible insert, allowing the compact to accommodate either loose or solid powder.
It also retains its original protective pouch.
The enamel remains bright and clean, the gold-tone finish retains its lustre and the mirror is clear. The original sifter, insert and pouch are also very well preserved.
A particularly complete example of Kigu’s mid-century production, with the pretty floral enamel softened beautifully by that distinctive scalloped golden edge.
