Vintage Kigu Powder Compact: Gold Guilloché Starburst, Original Pouch, Made in England

This Kigu is pure geometry — concentric lines exploding from the centre of the lid into a glorious gold starburst.

Made in England by Kigu of London, the engine-turned decoration is wonderfully crisp and gives the compact tremendous movement as the light travels across it.

Inside is the original mirror together with its Kigu Plus sifter insert. The convertible fitting allows the compact to take loose powder or a suitable solid powder tray.

It also retains its original black Kigu pouch.

Condition is excellent, with minimal signs of use. The pattern remains sharp, the interior is beautifully clean and the mirror is intact.

A fabulous example of how effective mid-century engine turning can be — no enamel, flowers or painted decoration required, just light playing across beautifully worked metal.
