A striking large vintage Le Rage powder compact, made in England and measuring approximately 9 cm in diameter.
The gold-tone lid features an exceptionally attractive radiating sunburst design, with finely engraved lines extending from the centre across the entire surface. At its centre is a raised ornate silver-tone mount set with a vivid faceted blue stone, creating a beautiful contrast against the warm gold finish.
The generous 9 cm size gives this compact real presence, while the fine engine-turned decoration changes beautifully as it catches the light from different angles.
Inside, the compact retains its original fittings, including the mirror, powder sifter and original Le Rage branded powder puff. The powder compartment is particularly clean and the original puff remains in very nice condition, complete with its woven Le Rage label.
Condition:
Very good vintage condition. The gold-tone exterior remains bright and attractive and the radiating decoration is crisp and well defined. There are some light signs of age and use, as expected from a vintage piece, but nothing that detracts from its overall appearance. The interior presents particularly well and retains its original fittings, including the Le Rage puff and sifter.
