A wonderfully detailed vintage Mascot powder compact, decorated with some of London’s most famous landmarks.
The gold-tone lid features raised scenes of the Houses of Parliament, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, arranged around a central Eros London medallion. Each landmark is individually named and set against a beautifully textured engine-turned background.
The reverse has a striking concentric circular design. Inside is a large mirror and powder compartment complete with its pale pink fabric sifter.
Measuring approximately 8cm in diameter, this is a particularly lovely example of a vintage London souvenir compact.
It remains in good vintage condition overall, with surface scratches, light tarnishing and age-related wear to the gold-tone finish. The sifter shows some wear and signs of previous use, while the mirror remains clear and usable.
