A beautiful Max Factor Regency powder compact and matching lipstick holder, presented together in their original-looking black woven fabric pouch with a richly patterned gold-coloured thread design. This is a particularly lovely coordinated vanity set, with the warm gold-tone finish of both pieces complemented by sparkling clear faceted stones.
The rectangular compact has softly rounded corners and a finely textured diamond-patterned case, finished with a raised rectangular clasp set with clear stones. Its matching cylindrical lipstick holder carries the same closely patterned finish and has a circular stone-set end cap. The reverse of the compact is marked “Max Factor”, “Regency Compact”, “Creme Puff”, “Hollywood, London, Paris” and “Made in U.S.A.” Inside are a rectangular mirror, white-framed powder well and a pale pink Max Factor powder puff printed with the maker’s name and decorative emblem. The pouch has a fitted sleeve for the lipstick holder, making this an especially charming and glamorous set.
The compact and lipstick holder are in very good vintage condition and display beautifully, with all stones intact. The pouch requires re-gluing where the lipstick-holder sleeve joins the main pouch. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
