Vintage Petit Point Powder Compact – Floral Embroidery, Gold Tone Mirror – 1950s Evening Bag Size

A charming vintage petit point powder compact dating to the 1950s–1960s, featuring a beautifully worked floral embroidery panel to the front.

The design shows soft pink rose-style blooms framed by sage green foliage on a black ground, worked in fine needlepoint (petit point) stitch. The reverse is finished in black fabric, giving it an elegant evening bag feel typical of mid-century vanity pieces.

The compact opens to reveal a gold tone interior with engraved engine-turned detailing and a full inner mirror. The original powder well remains with its fabric base (powder and puff not present). The mirror is intact and the hinge and clasp close securely.

Unmarked, as many petit point compacts were, but very much in the style of quality mid-century British and continental vanity accessories.

Excellent vintage condition. The embroidery is clean and vibrant with no pulls or damage. The fabric back is clean and tidy. The gilt interior shows only light age-related surface marks consistent with careful use. Closes firmly.
