What makes this one nice is the full matching set-up: the cream brocade fabric, woven through with a gold pattern, wraps the compact itself as well as the front comb holder and side lipstick case. It is a wonderfully practical little vanity piece, with all the useful extras built into one substantial square compact.
Inside, there is a bright mirror, powder compartments and the original-looking white puff and sifter still in place. The tortoiseshell-effect comb slides into its fabric-covered holder at the front, while the cylindrical gold-tone lipstick holder sits neatly at the side.
There is gilt wear around the outer edges and light foxing towards the top edge of the mirror, but it remains bright and usable. The fabric covering is still attractive and the compact presents well for its age. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
