Vintage Rare Stratton Powder Compact Rock and Roll Dancers Jiving Couple 1950s

A delightful 1950s Rare Stratton powder compact in the charming ‘Rock and Roll Dancers’ design, capturing the lively spirit of the jiving era. Its round gilt-toned lid is beautifully illustrated with a dancing couple: the lady in a swirling blue skirt, her partner dressed in a red top and yellow trousers. A drum, saxophone and double bass, scattered musical notes, stars and a tiny crescent moon complete this wonderfully animated mid-century scene.

The colourful illustration stands out beautifully against a warm, softly brushed gilt ground, while the reverse is finished with finely spaced concentric circles. The interior rim is marked “Stratton Made in England”. It measures approximately 7.5cm in diameter.
