Vintage Richard Hudnut DuBarry Miniature Powder Compact – Art Deco Spider Web – 1920s/30s – 4cm

A charming miniature Richard Hudnut DuBarry powder compact, dating from the late 1920s to early 1930s Art Deco period.

Measuring just 4cm across, this tiny silver-tone compact is beautifully decorated. The front features an applied rectangular panel with stylised red detailing and delicate starburst accents, while the reverse has the distinctive finely engraved radiating spider-web design found on other period DuBarry examples.

Inside is a circular mirror, hinged cosmetic compartment and tiny square puff. Despite its diminutive proportions, it is beautifully constructed and a lovely example of the miniature handbag vanity accessories produced for Richard Hudnut’s DuBarry cosmetics line.

The compact remains in good antique condition with expected surface wear, marks and patina consistent with its age. The mirror and puff show age-related wear, all visible in the photographs.
