A striking vintage powder compact by Zenette of England featuring a detailed Royal Navy emblem to the lid.
The gold-tone case is decorated with flowing engine-turned patterning centred by an enamelled naval badge depicting an anchor beneath a crown and a “Royal Navy” banner.
Often described as military “sweetheart” compacts, pieces of this type combined an everyday vanity item with insignia associated with a particular branch of the armed forces, making them interesting both as vintage compacts and as pieces of military-related memorabilia.
The reverse carries further engine-turned decoration. Inside, the compact retains its original mirror, powder well, sifter and powder puff.
Condition is good vintage overall. There are minor surface marks and age-related wear consistent with previous handling and use, while the central Royal Navy emblem remains crisp and attractive. The interior is clean and the compact closes securely.
