The lid of this vintage compact carries a beautiful view of St Michael’s Mount, rising from the Cornish coast with its castle above the sea. Framed in warm gold tone, the image turns an everyday powder compact into a tiny landscape that could be carried home in a handbag.
Open it and the original mirror, powder well and soft pink puff remain inside.

The compact is unmarked, although its construction and styling are consistent with British souvenir pieces from around the 1950s–60s.
The scenic lid remains bright and well preserved, with minor marks around the frame and gentle surface wear to the reverse. The interior is clean, the mirror remains clear and both hinge and clasp work correctly.
A particularly lovely piece for somebody with memories of Cornwall — a miniature view of St Michael’s Mount preserved from the days when a holiday souvenir was something you might keep for the rest of your life.
