Vintage Stratton Baron Musical Powder Compact Ballerinas, Reuge Brahms Waltz, 1950s

A rare and highly collectible vintage Stratton “Baron” musical powder compact, featuring a beautifully detailed ballet scene of ballerinas in soft pink costumes. The image is a reproduction of classical ballet imagery associated with Pas de Quatre, a celebrated Romantic-era ballet known for its graceful ensemble of dancers.

The lid is delicately shaped with a scalloped edge and finished in enamel with a soft, painterly quality, giving the dancers a sense of movement and elegance. This is one of Stratton’s more desirable artistic designs, particularly when paired with a musical movement.

Inside, the compact houses a Swiss Reuge movement and plays Brahms Waltz, activated via the lift mechanism. The interior retains its original Stratton fittings, including mirror, inner lid, and powder compartment. The music plays as intended, adding a lovely nostalgic charm to the piece.

Importantly, this example comes complete with its original Stratton pouch, which is often missing and adds to both collectability and presentation.
