A beautiful 1960s Stratton Convertible powder compact in an unusually shaped octagonal form, finished in warm goldtone. Its softly brushed circular lid is framed by a polished, faceted border and centred with a raised four-petalled floral ornament, the finely textured leaves gathered around a luminous faux pearl.
Measuring approximately 8cm across, this charming English-made compact has Stratton’s all-over star-patterned finish to the reverse, together with a central “Stratton Made in England” mark. Inside are a circular mirror, mesh sifter, pink Stratton-branded powder puff and the original Stratton Convertible Compact paper insert, which identifies the compact as suitable for loose powder make-up.
The compact appears unused and is in excellent vintage condition, with a clean, bright goldtone finish, clear mirror and beautifully preserved interior fittings. There is light age-toning to the pink puff and paper insert, consistent with long storage. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
