A beautiful vintage Stratton powder compact featuring a wonderfully colourful scene of kingfishers beside water and bamboo. One bird is perched at the water’s edge while another flies overhead, with a tiny dragonfly completing the detailed design. The vivid turquoise, blue, green and yellow decoration stands out beautifully against the warm gold-tone background.
The compact shows some age-related surface wear to the gold-tone front, while the colourful kingfisher decoration remains bright, crisp and very attractive. The reverse features a finely engine-turned concentric design which retains a lovely warm finish.
Inside is a clear mirror together with Stratton’s characteristic self-opening powder lid bearing the Stratton logo. The interior presents well overall with light signs of age and previous use.
A particularly pretty and distinctive vintage Stratton, with its colourful bird and bamboo scene giving it far more character than the plainer gold-tone designs.
