A gorgeous boxed vintage Stratton Lip-View, finished in the most beautiful deep midnight blue with a radiant gold and silver starburst at its centre. Simple, elegant and wonderfully glamorous, the rich jewel-like colour catches the light beautifully and gives this little piece a real old-Hollywood feel.
Measuring approximately 6cm (2.36”) across, the beautifully shaped gold-tone compact opens to reveal Stratton’s ingenious Lip-View mirror, designed to stand at an angle for hands-free use – perfect for those discreet lipstick checks while out for the evening.
Even better, this example retains its original Stratton display box and the original rolled instruction paper is still fitted around the base – lovely little details that make it especially appealing to collectors.
The blue finish remains wonderfully rich and glossy, the gold-tone metal is bright and the mirror is clear and reflective. The original box shows some age and storage wear, as you would expect after all these years.
A particularly lovely survivor and a fabulous little piece of vintage vanity history – beautiful enough to display, but still entirely usable today.
