A charming 1950s Stratton Lip View lipstick holder, made in England and beautifully designed as a compact little vanity accessory with its own oval mirror. The gilt-tone case has an elegant ribbed finish and is centred with an elongated white oval panel decorated with rich red flowers and green foliage, framed in polished gold tone.
Measuring approximately 6cm, this lovely Stratton piece has an octagonal end plate marked with the Stratton name, patent wording and “Made in England”. Inside is the oval mirror, while a gilt-tone lipstick tube is included and fits neatly within the holder. It is a particularly attractive example of Stratton’s practical yet decorative mid-century designs.
The floral panel remains bright and appealing, and the case presents very well for its age. The mirror has edge foxing and age-related tarnishing around the perimeter. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
