The Lip-View combines a folding mirror and lipstick holder, with a shaped metal clip designed to hold the lipstick securely beside the mirror. When closed, the whole arrangement folds into a neat handbag-sized accessory.
The Cupid decoration makes this a less usual example of the model; Stratton produced Lip-Views with numerous floral, scenic and patterned finishes, while figural subjects provide a rather different collecting angle.
The mirror, folding mechanism and lipstick clip remain present, and this example also retains its original box.
There are small marks from previous handling and storage to the metalwork and packaging, but the principal components remain together.
A particularly appealing variation of Stratton’s ingenious Lip-View, with an identifiable decorative subject and surviving original packaging.
