A vintage Stratton powder compact, made in England and dating from approximately the 1960s, with an unusual burgundy, white and pink floral enamel design.
Measuring approximately 7.5 cm diameter, the lid has a white enamel centre decorated with delicate pink floral sprigs and surrounded by a deep burgundy border. The case is finished in gold-tone metal, with Stratton’s engine-turned decoration and maker’s mark to the reverse.
Inside are the original mirror and powder well.
It also retains its original grey Stratton pouch and Stratton England accessories tag, both useful surviving pieces of the original presentation.
The enamel is clean and glossy, the gold-tone finish remains bright and the mirror is clear, with very little evidence of use.
A particularly complete Stratton whose original pouch and paper tag have fortunately remained with the compact.
