A striking vintage Stratton powder compact with a strong Art Deco-influenced black enamel and gold stripe design.
The glossy black enamel is crossed by crisp linear gold-tone decoration, giving the compact a much more architectural appearance than Stratton’s traditional floral designs.
Inside are the mirror and powder fittings, including the mesh sifter.
Importantly, this example also retains its original box and protective pouch, making it a particularly complete surviving Stratton.
There are signs of previous handling to the compact and its packaging, but the dramatic black-and-gold decoration remains the dominant feature.
