Few ships captured the glamour of post-war travel quite like the Queen Elizabeth 2, and this beautiful Stratton was made as a small, elegant souvenir of that world.
The famous liner sails across a glossy white enamel lid, surrounded by Stratton’s warm gold-tone scalloped case. Turn it over and the reverse is finely engine turned; open it and there is a clear mirror with the Stratton Convertible fitting beneath.
Made in England and dating from around the 1970s, it measures approximately 8.5 cm diameter.
Even lovelier, it remains wonderfully complete with its original puff, mesh sifter, presentation box and leaflet.
The enamel is bright with very little handling wear, the mirror remains clear and the mechanism works crisply. The accessories are clean and the box shows only light storage wear.
A beautiful survivor from an age when boarding a great ocean liner still carried a sense of occasion — small enough to fit into a handbag, but forever connected to one of Britain’s most celebrated ships.
