A vintage Stratton Queen Convertible powder compact with a particularly pretty rose bouquet set against cream enamel.
Made in England and dating from approximately the 1950s–60s, the compact measures around 7.5 cm diameter. The central bouquet of red and pink roses is surrounded by silver-coloured scrolling decoration and framed by the distinctive scalloped gold-tone case.
Inside are the original mirror, powder well and mesh sifter.
There is some wear to the case from previous use and minor marking to the mirror, but the floral decoration remains bright and attractive and both hinge and clasp operate correctly.
The combination of Stratton’s Queen Convertible construction, scalloped case and traditional rose decoration makes this a lovely example of the company’s classic mid-century floral designs.
