A beautiful vintage Stratton Queen-style powder compact, made in England and dating from approximately the late 1950s to early 1960s.
The softly scalloped gold-tone case is decorated with a delicate hand-painted rose design, with individual pink roses and foliage creating a particularly pretty floral centrepiece.
Opening the compact reveals its original mirror and Stratton-branded interior together with the original powder puff.
Condition is good vintage overall. There is light age-related wear to the exterior and interior together with gentle surface marks from previous handling and use. The painted floral decoration remains attractive and the compact opens and closes securely.
Measurements: approximately 7.5 cm / 2.95 inches diameter.
A particularly feminine example of Stratton’s Queen-style compact, with the shaped case and hand-painted rose decoration giving it considerably more character than the plainer engine-turned versions.
