A fabulous vintage Stratton Regency powder compact, with its distinctive shield-shaped case and elegant gold-tone finish.
The front is decorated with fine linear engine turning and features two small interchangeable initial windows, currently displaying the letters C and D. The initials can be changed, making this a lovely compact to personalise with the recipient’s own initials.
The reverse has an ornate repeating scroll design, while inside is a large shaped mirror and Stratton’s clever self-opening inner powder lid. Simply opening the compact and pressing the mirror backwards releases the inner lid automatically – the original instruction label is still present.
The compact measures approximately 8.5 x 6.5cm and comes complete with its removable mesh sifter.
It remains in good vintage condition with minor surface scratches, rubbing and some age-related wear to the gold-tone finish, particularly around the edges and reverse, all shown in the photographs. The mirror remains clear and usable.
