Vintage Suitcase Powder Compact Green Enamel Vanity Compact 1950s Novelty Travel Case Design
A striking vintage powder compact designed in the form of a miniature suitcase, finished with rich green enamel panels and gold-tone detailing. This mid-century novelty powder compact features raised strap detailing, corner mounts and a carry handle, giving it the appearance of a small travel case – a popular and highly collectible design from the 1950s.
The compact opens to reveal a classic engine-turned interior with twin mirrors, typical of well-made mid-century powder compacts. The construction and internal layout are consistent with novelty vanity compacts of the period. This example is unbranded with no visible maker’s mark, which is not unusual for suitcase novelty compacts of this era.
Condition is good vintage condition with honest age-related wear. There are visible surface marks and rubbing to the enamel and gold-tone finish, along with light signs of use internally consistent with age. Both mirrors are present and usable, and the compact remains structurally sound while displaying very well.
A highly collectible novelty powder compact, particularly appealing to collectors of vintage vanity items, travel-themed accessories and mid-century design.
