A striking vintage powder compact by Vogue Vanities of England, dating from approximately the late 1940s and featuring the distinctive Persian Legend design.
The gilt-brass lid carries a richly detailed repeating scene of figures and dragons amongst stylised foliage. The intricate decoration covers almost the entire surface, giving the compact a very different character from the floral and engine-turned designs more usually associated with British compacts of the period.
Opening the compact reveals its original mirror and powder compartment.
Condition is very good vintage overall. The detailed exterior design remains crisp and attractive and the gilt-brass case presents beautifully. There is a small imperfection to the mirror, shown clearly in the photographs.
Measurements: approximately 7.5 cm diameter.
