A lovely vintage Zenette powder compact, made in England and finished in warm gold tone with an elegant geometric engine-turned design.
The rectangular case has a finely textured diamond pattern with contrasting vertical bands and a small plain rectangular cartouche to the centre, which could potentially have been engraved with initials.
Inside is a large rectangular mirror and a separate hinged powder compartment. The original Zenette Made in England powder puff is still present, along with the fabric-edged sifter.
The compact measures approximately 8 x 6 cm.
It is in good vintage condition overall, retaining a lovely bright gold finish. There is some age-related surface wear and marking, including small marks to the interior and light spotting/marks to the mirror, as shown in the photographs. The puff also shows considerable age and wear but is a nice original feature to have retained.
A beautifully classic mid-century compact with a wonderfully understated design, and a nice example from the English maker Zenette.
