An original 1930s Art Deco powder compact from the Seventeen cosmetics range by Maison Jeurelle for Colgate.
The octagonal compact has a dark gunmetal-tone case with a striking geometric enamel panel featuring a stylised flower in pink, green, black and silver – a wonderfully distinctive Art Deco design.
The interior is signed “Seventeen” and “COLGATE” and retains its original mirror and powder well. Some original powder residue remains in place.
Measuring approximately 5 cm across, this is a particularly attractive small vanity compact dating from the 1930s.
The enamel decoration remains colourful and displays beautifully. The mirror is present and usable with virtually no age-related marks. Please see photographs for the full condition.
