A charming vintage Stratton folding comb, beautifully decorated with an enchanting ballet scene in soft pastel shades. Its long, slim gold-tone case has an elegant scalloped outline and a finely detailed printed pastoral tableau, with dancing couples at either end and ballerinas in flowing rose-pink dresses at the centre. Tall cypress trees and a delicate landscape provide a lovely theatrical backdrop in pale blue, green, pink and gold.

The translucent tortoiseshell-colour comb is marked “Made in Stratton England” in gold lettering. Closed, this unusual little accessory has the appearance of a slim, glamorous case and measures 10.5 cm long. The graceful ballerina decoration and refined profile give it a particularly pretty mid-century character.

It is in excellent vintage condition, with no scratches or blemishes noted. The decorative scene remains wonderfully crisp and bright, while the hinge is stiff, sturdy and shows no signs of use. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
