Vintage 1950s Stratton Convertible Powder Compact – Cobalt Blue Swans & Reeds – 8cm

A beautiful vintage Stratton Convertible powder compact featuring two elegant white swans gliding amongst reeds, their reflections captured against a wonderfully rich cobalt blue background.

The glossy pictorial lid is particularly striking, with the vivid blue providing a beautiful contrast against the white swans and bright gold-tone case.

Made in England and measuring approximately 8cm in diameter, the compact features Stratton’s clever self-opening inner powder lid. The Convertible design was created to accommodate either loose or pressed powder.

Presented in excellent vintage condition, with the decorated lid retaining superb colour, gloss and detail. The gold-tone case remains beautifully bright and shiny, including the highly polished reverse, with only very light signs of age and use. The interior is equally well presented, the compact opens and closes securely, and the mirror remains beautifully clear. The original puff and sifter are no longer present.

A particularly lovely example of Stratton’s charming mid-century pictorial designs and a beautiful addition to a vintage powder compact or Stratton collection.
