Vintage Butterfly Daisy Powder Compact, Gold Tone Oval Mirror, Mid-Century Design

A beautifully decorative vintage powder compact featuring a charming butterfly and daisy design, with vivid blue butterflies set against a warm golden background. The artwork has a soft, painterly quality, giving the piece a romantic, countryside feel that really comes to life in the light.

The reverse is finished in a distinctive crackle-style pattern, often seen on mid-century compacts and particularly reminiscent of American designs such as Evans, adding texture and visual interest to the piece. While unmarked, the size, construction and styling are very much in keeping with mid-century American compact design.

Inside, the compact opens to a clear mirror and retains its original sifter frame and powder pad. The interior presents well overall, with a soft blush-toned lining that complements the exterior beautifully. Please note the mirror is secure within its housing but is slightly loose and does rattle when handled.

The oval shape gives it a more unusual and elegant profile compared to standard round compacts, making it a lovely display piece as well as a usable vintage accessory.

Condition is very good vintage overall, with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The hinge and clasp are in good working order.
