A large faceted green paste stone sits at the centre of this wonderfully detailed Czech compact, surrounded by raised floral decoration and smaller red, blue, green and amber-coloured stones. The silver-tone cover has a wonderfully tactile, embossed finish, while the reverse carries an all-over scrolling pattern rather than a plain back.
Measuring 7 x 7cm, it opens to reveal its original mirror and metal-rimmed mesh sifter, still neatly in place. The interior is stamped "Czecho Slovakia", supporting its Czech manufacture and Art Deco-era character. It closes securely.
In excellent vintage condition, with the decorative stones present and the compact working well. There are light age-related marks to the interior and mirror, as expected on a piece of this age. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.
