This one has the look of a piece of jewellery rather than a cigarette case.

Made by Kigu, this beautiful barrel cigarette case has a rich blue guilloché enamel front, bordered in gold tone and centred with a raised silver-tone wreath and bow. The combination of cobalt blue, gold and silver is wonderfully striking, while the fine guilloché beneath the enamel gives the surface that lovely shifting texture as it catches the light.

The reverse is engine turned and the case opens to reveal the characteristic curved interior of the barrel design.

There is some scratching to the blue enamel, rubbing to the gold tone around the edges and hinge, and marks to the interior. The decorative wreath itself remains beautifully defined and the case closes securely.

Approximately 9 cm / 3.54 inches.

A particularly decorative Kigu — bold, glamorous and unmistakably mid-century, with that lovely rounded barrel form making it rather more interesting than a conventional flat cigarette case.
