Vintage Kigu Chérie Heart Shaped Powder Compact – Gold Tone Engine Turned – 1950s/60s
A beautiful vintage Kigu Chérie powder compact, dating from around the 1950s–1960s and made in England.
This wonderfully romantic compact has Kigu’s distinctive heart-shaped Chérie design, finished in warm gold tone with an intricate rippling engine-turned pattern across the case. A pretty engraved floral panel sits at the top, adding a lovely decorative detail.
Inside is a large heart-shaped mirror and a separate covered powder compartment, complete with its fabric sifter. The interior is marked “Chérie”, “Patented” and “Made in England”.
Measuring approximately 8 x 7.5cm, this is a particularly charming example of Kigu’s mid-century vanity designs.
The compact is in good vintage condition with age-related surface wear and patina consistent with use and age. There is some deterioration to a small area of the mirror, visible in the photographs. The original sifter is included; there is no powder puff.
A gorgeous and very collectable Kigu compact, with its unusual heart shape making it especially lovely for a vintage vanity collection.
